The jury is expected to hear opening statements today. Williams is charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, felonies. He is accused of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 3 and 4, who were enrolled at Carol's Little Cubby Day Care, operated by Williams' wife, Carol.

Tioga County District Attorney Gerald A. Keene is seeking to convict Kenneth Williams of raping a 4-year-old girl in 2003 and sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl in 2005. Williams has pleaded innocent.

Williams' attorney, Ronald R. Benjamin, grilled prospective jurors on their exposure to news media stories about Williams. While many jurors said they had read stories, seen newscasts and heard rumors about the case, they said they felt able to put aside that information and concentrate on testimony heard in the Tioga County Courthouse.
