LEWISVILLE - A 43-year-old Lewisville pizza restaurant employee was arrested last week and charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old employee in the eatery's kitchen.
Sejdija Zeqiraj of Richland Hills turned himself in Wednesday and was released Thursday after posting $25,000 bail. According to court records and police, Mr. Zeqiraj held a supervisory position at Sam'es Pizza in the 400 block of Round Grove Road, near Vista Ridge Mall.
"We had this 15-year-old who came forward and made a report with her guardian that while working at the restaurant she was sexually assaulted by an employee," said Lewisville police spokesman Richard Douglass. "The information she gave police is she was assaulted by this man."
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the parents of another employee went to the 15-year-old's house to ask whether she had witnessed Mr. Zeqiraj making sexual advances toward their child. When the 15-year-old was asked whether anything had happened to her, she "ran out of the room crying."
"The defendant acknowledged that he would slap his employees on the butt, hug them and that they were like a family," the arrest warrant affidavit said.
According to court papers, Mr. Zeqiraj did not show up for a scheduled subsequent interview with police on Aug. 18. He could not be reached for comment Monday.
A banner hanging over the restaurant's name said a new brick-oven pizza and pasta restaurant called Pizza Pazza was coming soon. The owner of the space could not be reached for comment Monday.
According to the Denton County Web site, Mr. Zeqiraj was arrested in October on a family assault charge and in January for violating a protective order. Details of those arrests were not available Monday.
