But Dr. Patrick Baillie testified if Rychtarik returns to crime after serving his sentence, it likely won't involve an escalation in his criminal behaviour.

Baillie told defence lawyer Jack Kelly the most likely scenario if his client reoffends would be for Rychtarik to collect more child pornography.

Rychtarik, who now lives in Red Deer, is set to be sentenced after pleading guilty in April to possession of 15 pictures and one child pornography video.

Calgary investigators found 426 images and 11 videos on Rychtarik's computer, but the dates on his indictment limited his admission of guilt to the lower numbers.

Crown prosecutor Paul Mason wants Justice Sandy Park to order Rychtarik be put under the direction of the Sex Offender Information Registration Act.
