A couple of former RiCoCo International models yesterday described their interaction with the now-defunct agency's owner, Winnipeg police officer Richard Dow, as "creepy" and "inappropriate."
Dow, 52, was accused Thursday of sexually assaulting 14 former clients, including one woman on two separate occasions. Const. Jacquie Chaput, a Winnipeg police spokeswoman, said five of the alleged victims are minors.
"He had always given off a pretty creepy vibe," said the woman. "You'd hear about him taking girls out or if there was a promotion at a bar he'd have them all over at his house first and feed them booze before they went."
"He would tell me to lift up my shirt a little more, but I wasn't posing for that kind of picture," said the woman. "He was pushing, but I didn't give him what he wanted."
The woman, who was in her early 20s when she worked with RiCoCo, said Dow asked her out three or four times in the three weeks she worked for him. She quit after that time because she felt uncomfortable with Dow and never signed with another modelling agency.
The woman said it was a "total shocker" to hear Dow had been arrested, and said she's bothered she never got her photos back. "I'm just disgusted. I get this creepy feeling. It's just awful."
