Shortly before 6 p.m., officers were called to the alley behind 814 Tacoma. According to the Marion County Coroner's office, the owner of the home at that address had gone through the back yard to get a lawn mower for grass cutting. The blanket and its contents were taken to the morgue and the contents turned out to be a body. At this time the identity, sex, race, and age of the body has not been determined. The cause of death is also undetermined pending an autopsy on the body.
Just after 9 p.m. police were notified of a person shot at 2625 Highland Place. There they found a man suffering several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. His name has not been released. There is no suspect information.
