A Leavenworth man standing trial on rape charges for having sex with a 12-year-old girl fled before a jury could return with its guilty verdict.
It convicted Adrian Ozores, 32, of rape involving sex with a girl under 14 years old and of aggravated criminal sodomy. He was found not guilty of a second count of rape, Owens said.
The jury convicted him of picking up the girl in a park and taking her to his mother's house in Leavenworth. He was accused of raping her in his mother's car and his bedroom.
