The Waltham Family YMCA, 725 Lexington St., is holding an Open Ho Saturday, October 29 from 12-2pm to educate the community on the benefits of a YMCA membership. People in attendance will tour the facility, learn about classes and programs at the YMCA and get more information about Membership For All, the YMCA's new financial assistance program. There will also be a special membership promotion during the Open House. The Waltham Family YMCA is located near the Lexington border at 725 Lexington St. in Waltham. The Middlesex Human Service Agency's 15th annual Robert and Thomas McNamara Community Service Awards Banquet is Thursday, Oct, 27. First Parish Universalist-Unitarian announces "Way Cool Sunday School," its religious education program for September 2005-June 2006. Pre-K and Kindergarten explore a child's-eye view of church community life. Grades 1-9 enjoy a variety of classroom and service experiences surveying creation myths from many cultures side by side with the awe-inspiring current scientific understanding of the origins of life on Earth.

"Our Whole Lives," a values-based human sexuality education program, is offered for grades 4-6 and 7-9. The OWL program seeks to facilitate parent reflection on what it means to be an "askable parent" and by providing age-appropriate, accurate, values-based sexuality education to children and youth.
