EDITOR'S NOTE: The subject matter is obvious, but it is worth repeating that this column deals - often explicitly - with issues of relationships and sexuality. Reader discretion is strongly advised and we again underline that this column is not suitable for children.

Open-mindedness is in vogue. Prudishness is uncool. Sexual repression was something our grandmothers endured and, thanks to sexperts like Sue Johanson and Dr. Ruth Westheimer, even granny isn't afraid to explore the wonders of a personal pleasure device.

"For a long time we've put sex in a box," says Trina Read, a Canadian sex expert, who will be speaking at the Taboo sex show on topics like: Your G-Spot: Finding It, Using It, Loving It, Every Gal Needs a Daily Dose of Sexy Mojo and The Kama Sutra: Bring 5,000 Years of Knowledge into Your Bedroom.

The proliferation of everything kinky and sexual is a backlash for all of the guilt and shame once heaped on us for just wanting to do what feels good.

"It's so much more than that. We're bringing more sensuality to sexuality these days. That's not crumbling people's morals, it's expanding their repertoire," says Read.

But can we go overboard with our desire for more and greater sexual stimuli in a modern society that sets few boundaries, and is no longer ruled by religion but by market forces?

It all depends on your motivation, says Read, referring to girls who flash their boobs in front of webcams, then broadcast their goods across the Internet.

There's nothing inherently wrong with it, and there are plenty of takers out there. But what is driving these girls to provide this public service?

"Are they doing this because it makes them feel good and they're into exhibitionism, or are they trying to impress people, which is a sign of low self-esteem?"

With a world of sexual possibility at our fingertips and no one defining for us what is right or wrong, more than ever it is up to us to decide for ourselves what is sacred and what is profane in our bedroom.

There will be fashion shows, bondage demos, pole dancing, and over 150 booths featuring adult products, sexy fashions, romantic holidays, health and wellness, cosmetics and more.
